Had a chance to taste wines from Melville this past week at a event at Flatiron Wines. The tasting was quick & efficient with the Sales Manager Kurt Ammann. The wines were showing well and had a very close resemblance with the balanced movement that is so prevalent in the Santa Rita Hills AVA.
The 2013 Estate Pinot Noir was the stand-out wine which has evolved and is very approachable. The 2014 Sandy Pinot Noir was tightly wound and I would be curious to taste this a few years out to see how that evolves.
Overall, one more value Winery from a region that I think makes benchmark Pinots in the new world.
