Beaujolais AOC, while technically a part of Burgundy, has developed a completely different style of its own. Famous for their approachability, Beaujolais wines are low in tannins and have a full fruity bouquet. Beaujolais Nouveau is very cheap and low-quality. The best wines come from Beaujolais’ crus, and are much deeper and more complex. These wines are made from Gamay.
